Uskrsfest 2013 | a visual resurrection
In 2013, I was entrusted with the visual identity of Uskrsfest, the leading Catholic music festival in Croatia and the wider region. After winning the design contest, a fruitful collaboration with the organizers unfolded, extending beyond the initial commission into a series of deeply integrated design projects.
The visual concept drew inspiration from Croatian squares and vitraž (the ornamental language of stained glass). These elements were woven into a modular system of geometric patterns, subtly revealing the Cross within the composition. This interplay of form and faith became the foundation of the festival’s renewed identity: vibrant, sacred, and unmistakably regional.
Despite the organizers’ desire to retain their original, timeworn symbol, I found a way to honor it quietly, embedding it within the new design language without compromising the integrity of the vision. The result was a layered, poetic identity that resonated with both tradition and renewal.
Scope of work included:
- Music CD box and album design
- Invitations and brochures
- Citylight posters and promotional materials
- Stage elements, including monitor graphics and backdrop integration
- Visual coordination across print and digital platforms
The partnership continued beyond the festival, leading to further collaborations rooted in trust, clarity, and shared devotion to meaningful design.
Uskrsfest 2013 remains a ceremonial milestone in my archive, a testament to the power of subtle symbolism and the enduring beauty of sacred patterns. It influenced me, because it left an artistic language in kind of technique that defined me, especially if we follow my artworks today.
