Highway to Heaven – Gold Leaf Edition

This artwork was a real challenge. We created it as a gift for First Holy Communion, and it is truly remarkable how suitable and appropriate it feels for such a sacred occasion.

Carlo Acutis is known for continually referring to the Sacred Eucharist as his “highway to heaven.” He firmly believed that the Mass was the ultimate, essential key to holiness and often urged others to understand its immense value. “A hidden treasure”. Carlo felt that many people did not understand the importance of the Mass. He stated further, “If people fully understood the significance of the blessing of God giving Himself as food, “they would go to Mass every day.”

For this special edition of Highway to Heaven, each golden surface was carefully applied by hand, layer by layer, making every piece entirely unique. The cracks, reflections, textures, and imperfections of the leaf become part of the artwork itself.
