Spirit of the Sea | logo and visual identity
Spirit of the Sea is a logo and visual identity project developed for a Croatia-based luxury charter company operating along the Adriatic coast.
The concept draws inspiration from key maritime elements: the Dalmatian sun, the silhouette of yachts, the movement of waves, and, most importantly, the rope. The rope became the central visual motif. Its natural curves and tension forming dynamic shapes that suggested both structure and elegance. Through careful refinement, these lines evolved into a distinctive trademark that subtly resembles a yacht or sailboat navigating through waves.
The initial exploration began with copperplate calligraphy. This traditional approach allowed for controlled line contrast and expressive stroke modulation, establishing the foundation of the mark’s character. By working manually at the sketching stage, I was able to define rhythm, balance, and proportion before transitioning into digital refinement.
The final logo was precisely constructed in FontLab, ensuring technical accuracy, consistency, and professional detail execution while preserving the fluidity of the original strokes.
The overall identity is intentionally minimal, yet luxurious. A refined color palette inspired by the Adriatic landscape, clean typography, and structured layouts create a cohesive and elegant visual language. The result is a contemporary, high-end identity that communicates reliability, sophistication, and a premium charter experience.
